JUST SAY NO TO NEWSGROUPS
| In the beginning, newsgroups
consisted pretty much of Compuserve forums, dedicated to various software,
hobbies, etc. And they were good. But then God created AOL. And MSN and
MindSpring, and thousands of other ISPs, and rather than being filled with
people interested in solving problems and |

dispensing information, they
became the playground for every form of human garbage known to man.
And no, I don’t mean all
the Porno folks…I mean the incredibly self-righteous people who feel they
have to dispense their personal "Wisdom" on any and all subjects.
Case in point: A person depressed
about the death of a pet posts in a Pet’s Health NewsGroup. Hoping for
a little encouragement that he had done all he could in the situation.
Only to get pompous soccer mom bitches like "Toni" replying that he is
a bad person who doesn’t really take care of his animals.
I’ll bet you a hundred bucks
that the aforementioned "Toni" drives a gas-guzzling SUV with a cigarette
in one hand, a cell phone in the other, and no seat belts on her kids.
But she’ll spend every last penny to keep your 13 year old sickly Afghan
Hound alive. Because, after all, it has a great pedigree, and if she can
just get him to stop limping and coughing she can show him again next year,
and maybe get another blue ribbon.
Well, I hope you get several
blue ribbons. Drink them all quickly and smash your SUV into an 18 wheeler
headon after you drop the kids off at soccer practice. Have a nice Day. |
